Best Base spot (The Void)
Hey, Ive been thinking about it for a longer while now and I am ready to start a void base.

From some older videos on older versions there used to be "ground" on some parts of the void at around 3K deep

now I was wondering is it anywhat mapped out? Does the "ground" still exist at 3K m and where is the most amount of ground on the map in the Void?

The bottom was removed, as far as I know. If you keep going down you get teleported to the safe shallows.

you always would get teleported to the safe shallows at 8XXX M, the void was always that deep but there used to be terrain at 3K only for a few squares that stretched out, after that the terrain cut off as, on completely off neither ground nor cliff, but you still have cliff up to 3K m yet so theres bound to be some terrain there where its buildable. I mean you can build on the cliff itself in the worst but I was looking for the square patches of actual ground.
I know its not completely removed as there used to be ground between 2 biomes like when one part of the bione strecthed out more adn another part too there is still some ground afaik

what I mean with that is I know the ground that stretched out almost endless till you got teleported from horizontal distance is removed and it just drops off to the vertical void

But I was asking how much terrain that stretches like 30-40m out is still there or rather where is most of it on the map @ 3K deep

There is no ground anywhere. The entire crater just has a cliff drop straight down once you hit the void. So as for building a base, the location makes no difference.

yea but the cliff ends at 3K M and there used to be quite a bit flat land
there is still a ground there usually about 5-10m stretching out before the cliff terrain stops but where is the most of that land?

It was removed in big little update. You need to use an old version.
ahh rip, was it completely removed or is there still the few meters of terrain?

Does the cliff then just stop or does the cliff go down deeper now to 8K?

As said by everyone here, there is no ground down there anymore. It's just cliff all the way down until you hit the teleport point.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

so what now? one person says cliff till 2K other person says cliff till all the way down?

guess I just go to 1700K then so the prawn doesnt explode and start my base on the cliff side

checking myself now with hacks, wherever I am the cliff stops at 1120m and yes its like a floating ice cube and no theres no more ground

its not fully consistend, theres parts with cliffs going 800m only then theres parts with clifs going 1920m

anyway....
Theres multiple depth cliffs and its like multiple cubes floating in the water,

Sadly it seems apart from some small half textures squares under the map, theres really no ground in the Void anymore and the cliffs don´t extend all the way down and are just completely smooth and lack any kind of characteristic they used to have in prior versions

You shouldn't see the void as just another biome.
You should see it as the edge of the world. The border to the play area.
They could have done it with an invisible wall, like so many games do.
Or they could teleport you back to 0, 0, every time you cross into the void.
Instead they just made it empty of anything interesting and filled it with hostile leviathans.

It's just a more immersive way to create a border. So yeah it lacks characteristic. But that's kind of the point. It's not really a part of the game were you should be finding interesting things and places to build a nice base.

It used to have those things tho, Cliffs, pillars, Ground.......
it is the absence of everything there and the emptyness that wants me to build a base there as a challenge, it is no doubt the hardest Biome and yes I do see it as a Biome as it is listed as a Biome in the game

sure theres games that don´t let you go there which then never raises the idea to settle there but this game does allow it so I can use it, Just sad they removed the stuff I explored a few versions ago and I don´t really see any reason for it tbh I don´t think it effected performance that much or anything

yea I will just downgrade then probably
