Question about The Aurora Radiation Leak.
What happens if I don't fix Radiation Leak throughout the game. Except that I will have to swim in the Radiation Suit. The whole area will be contaminated ? Game over ? The creatures will be more aggressive ?

Just a chunk of the map will be irradiated. It's more of a point of interest to bring you into the ship to explore it.

One really annoying thing is that rad. suit conflicts with rebreather...

Isn't the drive core radiation leak like a "smokescreen" to get the player to explore the Aurora wreckage?

Like, can't you complete the game without ever repairing the Aurora drive core?

(But of course, there are at least two other mandatory things that you must find in the Aurora in order to complete the game....)

I do not know if the repair is necessary to complete the game. You can still enter it and scan everything. Unless it doesn't run a script that pushes the story forward.? All this is a guess

So confirmed. Thanks for the answer.

You should probably still go to the aurora and fix it, there's a ton of really useful stuff to scan there and you'll be able to use the rebreather and other suit upgrades instead of having to always use the rad suit.

I fix it so that i can get rid of the radiation suit.Having to switch out rebreather is annoying.

The radius of the radiation will slowly increase over time, up to a max of 940m. This is far enough to reach the safe shallows, but I don't believe it will ever hit the starting lifepod. Thus, there is some motivation (i.e. removal of a minor annoyance) for fixing the leak as soon as possible.

Regardless of how far it's spread, the radiation will fully disappear in 3 days and 10 hours from when the core is repaired.
