No, I use it all the time all over the place in the lost river and the ILZ. Never had a single issue, definitely not a coffin.
I like to go the pacifist-route and the prawn is very bad in staying hidden because it is loud as hell and you can not turn off the lights. I won't argue against it's capabilities in combat. But if you prefer to avoid combat in the first place, the prawn is really a bad choice. ;)
You don't have to fabricate the engine efficiency module. There's one already in the game:
In the reactor room/cyclops bay of the Aurora, in the first upgrade station.
Best tip for the cyclops: Don't use it
2nd best tip for the cyclops: Conserve energy by turning off the lights (interior as well), and only use special features like silent running when needed.
Tip #2: If you insist on using it, running at slow or standard speeds should do you fine. Slow+Silent Running is good for keeping preds from noticing you if you know they’re nearby.
Tip #3: Don’t use it. It’s very resource intensive and way too squishy for the cost of building it.
Tip #4: For optimum stealth, turn off the interior and exterior lights. Creatures such as Reapers are also attracted to light.
Tip #5: Don’t use it. The Seamoth and PRAWN by themselves are more than capable of getting the job done with less risk of destruction due to being more maneuverable.
Tip #6: Only use the shield generator immediately before impact with an aggressive creature and immediately disable it to preserve power. I once no-selled a Reaper trying to attack from below doing that.
Tip #7: Don’t use it.
That’s all I can think of for now. :)
The sonar upgrade that gives you a 3D scan of the terrain infront of you does use power however just double clicking it will give a pulse and only use 1% power.
OHHHHH
This it not a crappy what-is-the-best-pvp-build game where all players in the top tiers use the same two equipment objects.
