Just miles, and miles, and miles of empty water. No sight except for pitch black darkness. No sound except the screeches of Ghost Leviathans charging you.
Blood kelp zone never fails to creep me out. I know that there's very little there that poses a threat to me, but it still is just unsettling.
How deep is the giant tree cove biome?
The dunes doesnt really bother me. If I go in the prawn suit its not bad at all. Its a nice open biome where Reapers seldom sneak up on ya.
My safest are the sparse reef and safe shallows.

Spoilers :
From the opening entrance under the Moonpool, the depth is just above 900 m and to the floor of the Tree Cove it's about 930 m.
So taking one's Seamoth down there to expolre around is possible if it has a fully upgraded depth module as long as you don't dive below 900 m.
I have to say the Dunes and NE side of the Mountain Island, going deep and creeping toward the Void, but even just as unnerving is off the stern of the Aurora where Sammy hangs out.
According to the story, the only safe place would be the Mountain Island because it's out of the water. Many of the lifepods or bases in certain biomes, even ones where Reapers are not in the game, have a tale to tell about being attacked even there by Leviathans. I've had Reaper Leviathans in every biome in the past, be it glitches or they fled that direction. When that has happened, it's easy to see how nimble and capable they are to fit just about anywhere. This is why I say the Mountain Island is the only safe place.
The reason I don't vote for the floating island, is because we see evidence of them sinking. Also, currently it is perfectly balanced, but what if by building a base in reality you were to throw off that balance? I know these aren't game mechanics. I'm purely speaking from a roleplaying/story aspect. If I had to survive, I would take up residence on the Mountain Island and build support for heavy rains and long periods without food. This is why I usually fill lockers with salted fish and have 4 water filter machines to pump out bottles of water.
According to the Lore though, Ghost Leviathans go through that channel, and that tree is holding the egg of more than one of them being born, so it may be possible that from a roleplaying aspect, that is a very dangerous spot to build a base.
i just hate the darkness and all those bonesharks and falling into a gesyer
safest for me is the lost river
the ghost levi doesnt scare me and if you are afraid you can jump into a brine cave
enemys cant get down there and if they try they die from the brine
The safest biome to me would be the mushroom biome because nothing attacks me there.
since im a P.R.A.W.N. user i can just walk into the dead zone
then
good luck getting back up :D
also necro
It's very easy to get back up. Just jump off and wait about two minutes.
but it isnt that easy to do when crush depth is like 3000m
