Kyanite issue

I still haven't found any. Right now I'm standing near the huge glowing tree in lost river. The depth module 1 of my seamoth won't let me go any further neither can my prawn suit as it needs kyanite for depth module 2. In short, I can't reach the inactive lava zone to mine kyanite. Now what should I do?

You need the Cyclops, which can reach 1300m at depth module MK2 and doesn't require Kyanite.

But won't I need Prawn suit to mine it even if I make it all the way there with my Cyclops?

Yes you need a prawn suit with drill arm to mine it. You're lucky you know firsthand you need prawn suit to mine it. I went all the way down and had to go back up again cuz I didn't know lol

You need to take the Prawn down into the Inactive or Active Lava Zone and mine it.

No, you can pick up Kyanite by hand as well as mine the bigger formations with the Prawn suit. Also, in case you didn't know, you can dock your Prawn suit inside of the Cyclops. Just don't take it out when it's below its maximum depth.

Okay! I was under the impression that Kyanite needs mining and it's not available to pick up using hands. Alrighty! And yeah I know the docking system. Thanks

The only Kyanite I found that can be mine by hand are inside Lava Castle though and it's more dangerous there

No problem! That's what I thought at first as well until I just decided to explore the inactive lava zone with my Cyclops. Good luck in there.

There is kyanite that is reachable by a prawn suit with the mk1 module.

Upgraded seamoth 900m (MK3) ..upgraded O2 tank (high capacity) + Seaglide + Reinforced Dive Suit .. park at edge of LR/ILZ at 895m .. take Seaglide to Thermal Plant (you can make it, I've done it, granted if you know where to go) get air inside Thermal Plant.. go back out around the Thermal Plant there is free floating kyanite no PRAWN required, also lots of sulfur. There is a teleport in Thermal Plant that takes you to Big Gun.. use that to get back up and make blue key.. go back down using teleport and you can seaglide your way to containment plant (also given you know where to go).

This, you can go 1300 in the prawn without kyanite.

Yeah, just get MK1 for prawn, that wil get you to the area to mine the stuff. Then, take your prawn to the alien thermal plant, active the gate, hop up to surface and go build MK2 to get to last area.

Never used the cyclops down there, too big and bulky. The parwn suit works great. I have been swiped by the sea dragon and been fine (decent damage, but plenty of hiding areas to repair).
