What to do next? (spoilers!)

So, I have went down the river, found the alien research facility. Scanned everything I found there, it "updated" my infection. I also found the fossils, and the huge tree. I got back to base and got a unintelible message from an alien. The data implies I have to find more alien data do deal with the infection. I noticed the caves by the research facility continue down to some lava lakes, but it is too deep for me atm (only have depth module mk1 on my suit). So, do I have to go there to continue, or do I have to look elsewhere? Or did I miss something maybe?

If the datapad says that giant tree you mentioned is holding ghost laviathan eggs, then keep going to the other side of that cave that tree is in and go down.
This all you need to know to progress the game.

Also. This should be a no brainer but find the resources to upgrade your depth modules. Endgame is at 1700m

Ok thanks. I am trying to avoid too many spoilers. I have plenty of everything to upgrade more modules, except Kyanite which I am yet to find.

since you've already mentioned "lava lakes" i can tell you without spoiling it that kyanite is found in that zone. so you need to upgrade your depth modules to get to it.
investing in the thermal upgrades is also worth your while.

this isn't a spoiler, but more of a quality of life tip. improved boosters and double grappling arms makes the prawn extremely mobile and fun to pillot. (but also defenseless, one grapling arm and a drill arm is more versatile

I actually thought crush depth on mk1 depth upgrade on prawn suit was 1200, so seeing I cant get to the lava without passing that, I went back to base. After you told me I have to go there, I also found out the crush depth is 1300, so I went back there, and found the Kyanite about 20 metres where I was last time :D
I fought the Dragon Leviathan until it turned tail and ran away, and went into the Power facility, where I grabbed the blue card, activated the portal and went thru it. Now I am kind of clueless again, should I just wait for something to happen (I passed few days already, nothing), or did I miss something?

Double grappling arms sounds interesting, did not thought of that. Got the thermal upgrade, thanks for the tip.

Yes, you missid a new entry for the pda that gives you a new hint to the next location.
AFAIR it should have gotten a new message when you enter the thermal plant but maybe you have to activate some download inside of it.The portal is pretty much useless unless you somehow need to get out of lava zones asap for whatever reason.

Damn, not sure where to look. The thermal facility was quite small and straithforward inside, I am sure there is nothing to scan/download now. I looked around it too but found nothing of interest. Maybe something in the big lava cave, where is the Dragon Leviathan? Was glad I was out of there...

Last voice message I got was "Come here, to me.." by random alien, which pointed me in the direction of that portal.

Found it, turned out I did miss a room in that power facility

Ok I am lost again xD I got the message about the next facility, "cave system south south east of this position", supposedly meaning the thermal facility. Found no other cave around the facility other than the one I came, so I went back to the huge cave with the dragon leviathan, searched all around it, focusing on the SSE region, again found nothing but the way back to the river. So where is cave system to go thru next? Thanks again...

Thermal plant is hard, notice there is a volcanic hill in the center of primary chamber, the cave entrance is half way on the slope, with 2 small alien pillars at the gate.

It on the pass where sea dragon normally patrol, so it kind of dangerous but also give you some clue to find it.

Basically, data from security platform gives you all info on alien bases, which are required for plot progression.

No you did not get it, I already scanned everything in the thermal plant, I have no idea how to get further. Yes I searched all around the plant in its cave, nothing but the cave leading back. Something from the plant said the next thing is "SSE, 1400 deep". No idea how to get there. Spent hours scanning the huge cave with the Dragon Leviathan (super weak), found absolutely nothing but way back to the dead river. There is a cavern in the SSE direction, but it leads nowhere. Stuck badly...

Oh that, are you in cyclops?

Cause the way down is not a cave, it’s kind of a large sink hole or canyon that go straight down on the ground, it’s very hard to find it in cyclops’ bad LOS, even with sonar.

There is one near thermal plant entrance, find lava falls go straight down into the ground.

Ahh ok, gonna inspect the lava falls, thanks for the tip. By thermal plant entrance, do you meant the two pillar gate, or the actual entrance into the facility? I am only using suit, I have cyclops but basicaly not used it yet.

Outside the gate, between the gate and chamber wall, kind of beneath sea dragon patrol route I think.
