But yeh, it's a thousand plus years old creature with an agenda and no plans to live forever, that is fully aware that it is your only chance at getting off the planet, let alone alive.
If you kill it, you will be dying with it. And it knows this.

That and I guess the devs didn't want anyone shooting themselves (and the story progression) in the foot by getting stab-happy with it .

She couldn't give less of a ♥♥♥♥. Literally any "weapon" gives you doesn't do anything to her, and considering how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ massive she is, that's probably a good thing. Just go to her, right now, and swim up to one of her rear tentacles
Now compare how big you are to the end of a single tentacle, use freecam if necessary
Now consider even trying to put a dent in the thousand year old creature

Even the prawn drill makes this horrible scraping sound on her, like you're trying to drill something that's way too hard for poor prawn. I was half expecting her to thank me for the massage...
