One way to fix crashing constantly - 40062
sorry for my poor english

If your game crashing constantly, and with these condition below

- played many hours in a same game world, not just beginning
- crashing constantly when fast throgh a wide area
- not crash when player stayed in a small area (debris or seabase)
- game hang on before crashing for several seconds (HDD not work)

then your game may crashed with same reason to me

I guess the game heaped up many rubbish data for a long play, make game slow and crash, like item player throwed, respawned resource, creature corpse, floating rocks, etc. This operation will reset these things to orginal status.

1.Find your game file folder, like "\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Subnautica\"
2.BACK UP "SNAppData" folder
3.Find your save in "\SNAppData\SavedGames\", "slot0000" folder is the first save....
4.Delete or rename "CellsCache" and "CompiledOctreesCache" folder below "slot0000" folder

This operation will
- restore any terrain changes to orignal
- destroy any item player leaved behind
- restore any collected resource
- NOT change anything with seabase, everything is in the same place
- NOT change any item that player owned or stored in seabase/vehicles
- NOT change any vehicles that player build
- NOT change any blueprints or technology that player got
- NOT change fragment player scanned
- NOT change deployed beacon

In one word, it will restore the world to game start condition, but keep item and seabase.

I did this and not crashed agin for servral hours, it crashed one times per 10min before. However, it worked:steammocking:

It rests with you to use it or not.

Thanks for the information. And no need to apologise, your english is better than 90% of the native english speakers on Steam.

Can someone please pin this for any other player needing help on steam forums ?

Was having the seamoth/traveling-speed crashes people have mentioned on here. After uninstalling/reinstalling the game and deleting the folders OP specified, my game is running smoothly (for now, hopefully I haven't jinxed myself). Thank you so much!

Beware though, if you have underground/terraformed parts of your base, that you might want to retain your batch cell of your base location. Use F1 to find out about your camera batch/terrain sector of your base.
