Why the Reaper Leviathan is very scary?
Why the Reaper Leviathan is very scary?; unlike other creatures that can seem intimidating as a Ghost Leviathan or the Crabsnake, the Reaper Leviathan causes more fear especially to beginner players. And personally has a good concept of art that gives the impression that you will cut in two at any time.

Most players get scared when it AMBUSHES you.

But...it isn't.

Not to you, because you aren't near any of them. You're too busy being eaten by humans stranded on the island.

It is creepy. That's why I typically avoid the dunes and mountains.

It reminds me to a laughing clown trying to hug me :)

Agree.

I consider him most dangerous too as he has large threat rangeand is very aggressive.

Sea dragons seemed as joke in comparison they just floated in big circle and occasionaly fired breath at me which was easy to evade. Found just 2 ghost leviathans on my travels - one I jsut evaded and the one at lost river entrance just disappeared (first I was going through jsut with seamoth at bottom of sea but 2nd time I went through with Cyclop anbd he was nowhere to found..) - was somehow dissapointed that gretest danger is the first you met.

I agree too.

The difference is the Ghost and Dragon Leviathans are spawned in specific locations that are both difficult to get too unintentionally and far away from being a starter player. On the other hand, although we know generally which biomes the Reapers spawn in, there are a lot more of them and they tend to wander into the supposedly safer biomes where players with little experience and even less equipment are just waiting to be eaten. On top of that aside from the world border, both Ghosts and Dragons spawn in biomes that are quite bright. Travelling through the deep ocean at night and vaguely seeing an eel-like shape in the distant water is probably the most fear-inducing moment in the whole game

IMO, the fact that Reapers don't glow is what makes them scary.

they were scary as hell at first, until i got the balls to fight them. Anyone scared of a leviathan needs 3 things. A high capacity O2 tank, a thermoblade, and a stasis rifle. You can kill one without even running half out of air, just shoot it in the face when it charges, get behind the fin closest to its head, avoid the mouth (it can still bite when stunned), hit it about 8 times, stun at full blast again, and repeat. Every reaper is dead as soon as you can get a burning knife and a good air tank. Problem solved.
you can hear them but can't see, you might catch a glimps of a tail in the distance, tension is building building then bam...&^%$ *&&%^ #$#$%

Its all in the ambience

Sound and murky water makes them terrifying, that said

If you where here for when they eternally hunted you and didnt spawn until they where a foot in front you you, THAT was true nightmare fuel

For me they're scariest in the crash zone behind the Aurora. That murky brown water...

I just bolt straight there on the surface, im NOT looking down there

or when one once wandered near my islands near the aurora and circled them and wouldnt leave, NOT OK

Only place I wouldn't head toward with reapers is the mountains....so dark there. Dunes is ok, they contrast against the surroundings.
