There is only one official ending - the escape. But, that is purely an option. If you don't want to leave after being cured, that is up to you, though majority will play through to the end.

I am not a of the ending to both subnautica and subnautica below zero just because it don't make sense to leave the planet and let your building go to waste kind of a waste of resources when the planet in the first game and the second is beautiful like a paradise.

It is possible to prevent the Sunbeam's destruction, but that's more of an alternate story point than an alternate ending and you have to go way out of your way to make it happen.

How bored are you?

You don HAVE to complete the story and leave the planet. Just keep playing and building. There are no "alternate" endings however.

I think staying on the planet (that belongs to me now) is the right thing to do. I have an enforcement platform to stop any new ignorant aliens or Federation douchebags messing with the wildlife (or me).

Oh you mean the very planet that's full of alien life all of which is already trying to kill you? Plus if Alterra has ships the size of the Aurora, what the hell makes you think they don't have planet killers especially when one planet would have claimed multiple ships just flying by it, plus you forget that the Mongolians would also be interested in the planet as well given that the entire reason the Aurora was sent out to that part of space is BECAUSE the previous ship was from the Mongolians! But anyway as the OP gracefully points out.

Try and land on my planet, see how it works out.

Again they don't have to land on it if they have the technology to just blow the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing up! This is SCI-FI we're talking about here where space travel is possible, you REALLY think the corporations AREN'T going to have any kind of military Navy capable of laying waste to a planet that keeps shooting down their ships?

They didn't show up so far in that one guy's 1000 hour savegame. Guess there's no real profit in it.

Speaking about profit...

This reminds me about the hilarious PDA message, when picking up the first diamond.

Remember that materials you gather are the property of the Alterra corporation. You will be liable to reimburse the full market price. Your current bill stands at 3 million credits.
When escaping the planet, Ryley is NOT allowed to land on the Alterra planet he travels to until he settles his dept of 1 TRILLION CREDITS!

So escaping the planet might be canon, but from a financial perspective it's a bad choice. XD

I'm sure the 3 trillion thing is just Alterra trying to strong-arm Ryley out of any ideas he might have about claiming ownership of any of his discoveries on the planet.

If they lay waste to the planet, they might lose the alien technology. I'm not even negotiating with them. The enforcement platform stays on.
