I was playing that sh!t a few weeks ago. I lost my sh!t when I shotgunned an alien and it hung tail first from the ceiling and was stuck there.

The Blood Kelp zones. Easiest one I found to get too is the one straight west past the Western grassy Plateaus. There's a point that juts into the grassy plateaus that has a gradual step down so it's easier on the nerves if it's your first time going down there.

I can't even get past that big staircase section area near the start of the game. I just get gang banged by 50 xenomorphs.

See the back of the Aurora? Good. Find the thermal vent in the safe shallows 400 or so meters from the back in a 45 degree angle from it. Now go parallel to the Aurora in the opposite direction it's facing (to the back) through the kelp forest, there's a dropoff a few hundred meters, go down, find the white mushrooms and grab some of the red things down there too. It's only a couple hundred meters down and it's relatively safe in that area. There's also an entrance near the 500m Degasi base there.
