Idea: Sub Culture like game as a DLC?
If anyone of the devs remembers Sub Culture developed by Criterion Games. Please make a reboot in your Subnautica engine.
Sub Culture was in my opinion a real pearl (pun not intended) but sadly wasn´t recognised much.

If it wasn't recognized back then, why would it be any different now? Have I ever told you the definition of insanity? It's doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome.

Recognized in regards to that it didn´t have a big player base when in came out even when it had good scores in game tests. I don´t remember having submitted this idea before.
Do you even know that game or do you just have commented to imply that I am insane? The Sub Culture game was released back in 1997. Don't know how old you were back then but I have been only 7 years old and played it with an almost ancient Joystick that made creaky sounds when used. I suggested this idea because I have the game still in good memory and miss playing it especially for its micro management with ressources.
My quick search tells me that many players think that Subnautica reminds them of Sub Culture.
But having the idea to remake the game in the Subnautica engine wasn´t mentioned anywhere so far.

Actually the real quote is "Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results."

And if you're curious, no, it wasn't Einstein that made the quote. Actually, the first time this saying was ever made was back in '81 in a Narcotics Anonymous pamphlet which can be found in the web archive here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20121202030403/http://www.amonymifoundation.org/uploads/NA_Approval_Form_Scan.pdf Chapter 4 "Step Two," Page 11, Paragraph 4, Sentence 6.

The key word in the actual quote is "mistakes."

In reference to the suggestion here, one cannot really call the suggestion a mistake with the limited sample size and due to the cultural climate as well as industry size of the time.

It's very plausible that the game, updated and given a fair go of it, would be popular enough to warrant an investment in time that would then produce adequate profit to compensate for the time investment. The industry is much more robust, gamers come from all walks of life these days, and video games are no longer considered to be pastimes exclusively saved for children, even video games that are aimed at children many adults find amusement from these days.

Therefore I would have to say that your argument against this idea is shallow at best, it may very well be worth looking into, I don't know, I don't have the statsitics or figures to know for sure. Yet what I do know is your arguement based solely on a misquoted, and often misattributed, quote simply isn't enough to wholly write off the suggestion, especially after I've answered your first question and told you why it could very well be different now.
