Whats the deal with base-building? Cant just make a wall?

A bit dissapointed in the base-building, Ive found all these blueprints for coffee makers, vending machine and tables, but there all useless as I cant just build a damn wall. What the hell?

How is this done? The only options are the foundation and a bunch of tubes that are too cramped to fit a single damn thing, and after 6 hours of scouring the bottom of the sea I have yet to scan even one shard of a wall blueprint. Not sure where all the furniture is supposed to go if the only options are tubes and specfic small rooms like the scanner room.

If you follow the radio locations two of them (trying to keeps this mostly spoiler free) will lead to places you can get the large rooms. Other areas of the map have the parts to make a larger room that works as a moonpool for your smaller craft (or an indoor swimming pool).
Just be sure to explore all of the areas they lead to.

As I'm sure you should have noticed by now, foundations help put up the hull integrity of your base to stop it from flooding. Other than if you really need an area of flat ground outside this is all they are good for and as the game goes on will fast be outdone at even this.
They are not "needed" to make a base as the name might suggest.

Between these points you will soon enough have all the parts you need to make some (no doubt) fantastic bases.
