Shimmering peeper

So after getting back onto Subnuatica after a while I noticed a peeper near the aurora wreck which had a gold glitter trail and naturally picked it up. Is there anything special about this little fella or is it just a light effect?

I just realized that what I wrote is a bit off. Fixed below.

The Emperor Leviathan uses peepers to spread the enzyme 42 (cure). The peepers who have been given the enzymes have the golden trail.

peepers are smarter than your average passive fish, it is noted by the PDA, so they come down the pipes to the leviathan and head back up to spread the enzyme or get eaten, either way the cure is given. i'm not sure if the peeper is aware it is doing it, but it seems outside the natural behavior of the creature.

Ok, thanks guys, I'll keep venturing around to discover their use. In the mean time I've put him in my aquarium as a glittery pet.

at least the critter will reproduce with another and keep providing a cure to your other caged creatures, so they remain safe from infection.
