Can we get a female main character in Subnautica now?

Request is in title. I am aware of Below Zero (which I also believe should have a choice) but I am referring to the original Subnautica.

No the game is finished, and why it would it matter if you're a man or woman anyway? There is no dialogue, and you pretty much don't ever see your character.

Every noise and exclamation that the character makes is male. The reflection, hands, and feet are all male.

When I played Subnautica, I was sure at first that we were playing a female. Turned out, don't remember how, that it wasn't.

Also, there is no point in asking this in a game which has been finished for so long. It doesn't even impact the game at all, you barely EVER see even the shape of your body in game.

25 years ago, I wanted something in duke 3d but devs didn't include it. I looked into Build engine and accidentally became a contributing modder for the community. Take this opportunity and learn how the game works and make a female mod yourself. Perhaps people like you would appreciate it too.

I never said anything about a 'we'. I said 'you'. As in 'you' the one that wants such a pointless thing.

The devs have already gone on record, and stuck to it, that the game is feature complete and nothing new will be added outside of performance enhancements and (far more needed than this) bug fixes.

As the name of the character implies, Riley can be either male or female. It's up to your imagination. Just because the character does't have boobs hanging down to it's knees does't mean diddly-squat.

The main character is male. You can see his model with a scanner room a window and a camera.

That being said, I have no clue what a female main character would bring to the game considering that unless you use the trick above you literally never see the MC.
