/update
Still dead, no body. At least not in stable, and at least not soon or after restatrt.
You deserve a chocolate medal for your try though.
What we're duicussing here is whether they respawn and whether they should. I think they shouldn't. From lore perspective, player can ruin ecosystem as Degasy survivors discussed. Gameplaywise this would allow sealife genocide as valid playstyle.
I read somwhere that only eaten fish does respawn, not murdred one, and so far was under impression: that's the case. But I never really checked. At least, if reapers respawn, they are not found at same exact location they were found and killed before.
Crabsnakes in shroom caves could be fitting for testing, caves are small and it's fairly easy to track them all down except for maybe odd one, stuck in the wall. And if days later I return and see a whole new bucn, then yes they are respawning.
At the moment only small creatures respawn, not larger aggressive sharks and leviathans (if killed by the player)
I personally hope they will eventually, myself. Genocide doesn't seem like a very fitting playstyle for Subnautica, IMO.
I killed a few in the dunes and they haven't come back. They're quite enjoyable to brawl. People say grappling arm and drill arm, but I've had more luck with just a grappling arm and punching with the regular prawn arm. The best reason to use the grappling arm is that the reapers have a tendency to push you into the void while they have ahold of you, leaving you to fall into the abyss upon releasing. If you have them grappled, they'll pull you back up.
They might respawn after an update but who knows.
cool. i used seamoths shock thing about 6 times and after that stasis rifle and stabbed it :D
