Sea Emperor Leviathan makes no sense *spoilers*
In my opinion, the sea emperor leviathan makes no sense. How has it not yet escaped its containment? We know from in-game lore that it has been in there for almost 1000 years, and so have its eggs, so we know it wasn't placed inside as a baby. Also we see the Sea Dragon Leviathan, which is a fraction of the size of the emperor, absolutely wreck the other containment facility. Some of the damages seen in game could have been caused by the environment, but looking at the lack of wear of the other facilities it is likely that most of the damage was caused by the dragon. So how has the emperor not broken out in centuries? If it wants to free its children so badly, it should be able to cause severe enough damage to the containment facility to escape, especially over the course of a millenia.

Well if you read the precursor data you'll find that they copied the habitat of the sea emperor to perfection in that aquarium and that doesn't look like a place where a sea dragon would live.

More surface like biomes and the environment inside is not lava like or hot.

I think she telepathically told the precursors to make a teleporter for but they refused or didn't listen?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she's trapped in a prison designed specifically to contain her, so the Precursors could use her to find a cure to the Carar.

She's so far down to the point where there's LAVA, so even if she could escape, i'd doubt she could get out unscathed because of the Sea Dragons swimming about and possibly the temperature.

She'd be abandoning her eggs, which she clearly cares very much about, if she left herself.

She wants to eradicate the Carar from the planet and save the worlds inhabitants, she's trained Peepers to carry her enzyme to the other biomes via water Pipe System specifically to spread it.

Because she's old and weak (She seems to collapse in exhaustion after you free her young) i'd doubt she could carry on forever, so her children would be the best way to eradicate the disease once and for all.

Something in a video game has to make sense?

That, and there are the eggs. She would probably never leave the eggs again until they hatched, considering what has happened to the other offspring in the past.

Yes but that aquarium is under water, if it got busted either lava or water would flow in not air. The aquarium was purpose built just to house this leviathan, after they allready had the data from the other one breaking out. I would assume an advanved race could figure out what went wrong the last time and fix it for the next facility. Although 1000 yrs is a long time of being in a very boring confined space, she better have been hibernating or taking a very long power nap some of that time.

Are you assuming the Sea Emperor was able to break the walls of the prison? If not, she still would have had to enter an oxygen atmosphere before trying to get out. I don't think the Sea Emperor could breathe air. If she tried to get out she would get stuck, suffocate, and die.

Some people like it to, yes. It helps to get into the atmosphere of the story or game if the audience can really believe that it can happen. See: Suspension Of Disbelief.

And for all we know, much of what is in this game actually could happen. We just haven't seen any of it happen yet.

Well, you have almost 1500 hours in Terraria, I guess you know what you're talking about.

I probably don't. I just like to speculate (^_^;) Big science fiction fan here.

Also note that the sea dragon was outside the DRF when it broke it. This makes a large difference as the supports to the facility are outside. The sea emperor is inside the PCF, so it would be harder to get out, also seeing that it is a massive facility with probably very thick walls.

Where did you find that? In game evidence does not support that she is unnaturally old, so it would be more like a 90 year old. Also, she's been in there for a 1000 years. She was placed in there at a much younger age, and the Precursors died shortly after due to the carar, giving her plenty of time to escape.

Well, the data bank entry does say she is 1600 years old and that she has lived well in excess of the peak lifespan for her species: http://subnautica.wikia.com/wiki/Sea_Emperor_Leviathan

The emperor was already pass it's normal age range and was living on due to sheer willpwr to protect her young. That's why once her young escape, all the str left it bc she has done the final job as a parent.

Maybe because the sea emperor is too old and frail? Her species doesn't seem to be build for fighting. The sea dragon is more suited to it.
Then what are those enormous claws for, and the sharp teeth? Also, it has had a thousand years in there, I'm pretty sure it should be able to use those giant claws or simply its enormous mass to break down the walls.

Not risking it's young perhaps? Maybe it's not suited to the Lava environment?

Also, just because an organism has something that looks like a weapon, doesn't mean it is used as a weapon, like at first glance a Peacock Spider's bright colors put on the look of a poison dart frog, but no, they wiggle around and dance for mates, animals are weird and are sometimes not as it seems, the emperor is horrifyingly gigantic and terrifying at first, but she's gentle.
