Below Zero not an Expansion? Any Discount to come for Owning Subnautica?

First I thought When Below Zero was announced orginally it was going to be an expansion to Subnautica; meaning like part the game we would chose to play from this game itself. I take it its expanded so much now it only going to be its own game and we will not be getting any updates for Subnautica??

Also since it seems like Below Zero will be its own game not an expansion pack like we first thought, will we who bought Subnautica and have had it for a while be given any kind of discount to use for Below Zero? I am not expecting one persay but I also know that plenty of companies will do something like that for owners of one there games most all when its something like what Below Zero is to Subnautica.

Can't speak as to whether or not we'll get a discount at some point (likely not), but Deep Zero is most definitely its own game. It even has its own Store page.

Yeh I know thats what surprised me lol when I heard it was out I was like where is it on the DLC list...

Kind of hope we will to promote early support more. I mean they KNOW more then likely if we own the first we will want to get the Sequel

Its a standalone expansion. You get a $5 price drop by buying it now.

A new game requires it actually be new. Below Zero is a branch of subnauticas project file.

Yeh I know its a Stand alone which is fine but not what I and others where expecting at first.

And I know much like Subnautica (and most EA games) I am getting a small break in price buying it before it leaves EA but since it is a Expansion to Subnautica it wouldn't be unheard of to give the people who own the Main game to get some kind of Discount.

This puts a sour taste in my mouth. We were told it would be a free expansion when it was first announced. It's their game and they can certainly do what they want with it, but this puts a huge dampener on any excitement I had over this. If there was any chance they were going to charge for it, they shouldn't have said a word about Subnautica owners getting it free. It's going to cause backlash.

Yeah, to be frank, it's pretty obvious Below Zero is only being sold as a standalone as a cash grab. They'll be able to charge us more for it, that's all. Just as greedy as Ark and Atlas.
