Cure before sunbeam (disable gun)
i know it doesn't matter if i disable the gun, i read that the ship won't come over "too much orbital debris" but i was wondering if its worth me trying to get it in time (my timer has started which i didn't know it would or even know about) i got like 40mins to get to the "Primary Containment Facility" i did it earlier but me being an idiot i left my purples tablets so i didn't save and i will try again later remembering to bring them. But anyways i was wondering if its worth all the hassle to rush there and hatch the eggs.(also read i have to get five plants from various biomes to open it) so should i bother or just try normal and not rush.(the ship will be destroyed but it won't come anyway so..this was all about the better choice)

ya probably shouldn't. from what i've seen, deactivating the gun won't change anything with the sunbeam. i haven't seen anyone hatch the eggs with the sunbeam event on yet, but i doubt anything different is going to happen

As far as I know, the only reason to do it is just to say* you did. The rest of the game is the same.

There used to be a sequence where if you disabled the gun, the sunbeam would come down and say that they can't land because there is not enough room to do so and then take off to inform Alterra of your status.

when i last did this the other day i deactivated the QEP and it still came online and took down the sunbeam and resumed its previous state.

an alternate seq? sounds spoicy. somebody needs to bring this up to the devs and get em to bring it back in ;-;

i wonder why they took it out/never used it

Have you tried playing the game without activating the radio? You can avoid the Sunbeam count down that way.

I just tried to rescue Sunbeam that way. If it ever worked, it doesn't at the moment (Sep-2018 61056). The gun was deactivated. I touched the radio to activate the Sunbeam countdown. Waited 40 minutes, the gun reactivated and moved (though still looks turned off and it shoots out the side of its barrel), shot down an invisible Sunbeam (though the fireworks were visible), and then re-deactivated. I quit the game and reloaded a save to try again. Same result only the Sunbeam was not invisible the second time. It looks like the alternative ending is bugged.

THe alternative Sunbeam ending has been "bugged" since the game release back in 2018. I put bugged in quotation marks because they don't seem to care about this and it certainly looks like they intentionally removed it.

I just tried it on my second play through.
Contacted sunbeam to land AFTER I was cured and the QEP was disabled.
Sunbeam just says they can't land due to orbital debris field, and that they will contact our employer about our situation.
