Gravity traps explode

I was doing some resource gathering in one of the volcanoes in the starter area. Using the gravity trap to pull stuff in. After a few reloads because I kept having the trap disappear. I decided to just sit and watch it. It was right on the edge of the volcano blast area, and when the blast came, the trap went boom.

It makes sense, but since I often leave it for a few minutes while running the loot back to the storage on the seamoth, I was not seeing it happen

I thought they had unlimited power and were invincible. I've been doing the same thing in the Lava Zone, cept I don't stray too far from it. Thanks for the heads up. Also how is your Seamoth that far down? lol

Heh, their not. They are talking about one of the thermal vents in the safe shallows.

Heh, their not. They are talking about one of the thermal vents in the safe shallows.

oops lol forget the seamoth part then. lol still applies to gravtrap though. Thought they were invincible from any eruption, in the shallows or the Lava Zone. lol

Yeah, it's the thermal vent with the cave going through it near the lava on both sides, pack full of minerals. Run close to the lava (start taking heat damage), activate the trap, run away until it gathers the minerals, run back into the heat to grab the loot/trap. It just so happened on this run, I was overloaded and had to leave the trap for a minute.
