Subnotica worth it YES/NO/MAYBE?
I'm thinking about buying Subnautica, but I'm not sure if it's what I'll enjoy.

I don't really have the 1€ = 1h type of mentality

If you really enjoy exploring and think it sounds interesting I'd say go for it. It's not much of an action game or survival game, mostly exploring with lite survival elements. I really love it and can't wait for more.

If you can live with some bugs every now and then. (Like being flinged into space by your cyclops).

buddy I play mobal games, glitches are like air to me.
Yes! It looks like a survival game but is actually something slightly different and a lot more wonderful.

Then you'll get a bang for your buck, because 1€= at least 5 hours of panic and anxiety.

(Yes, it's worth it)

The first 1/4th (maybe 1/3rd) of the game has some handholding to help get you out into it's world.
Once that's over it will just stop and let you figure it out on your own with just some hints and clues to work with. Most of us love this about the game but we're never short of people that once the game stops telling them where to go get lost almost immediately.

As Brandawg said, the game is heavy on the exploration and wants to leave you to it as soon as it can. So while it is not impossible to beat without it, there will be times when you may feel the need to make friends with the wiki (not as bad as say, minecraft, but there's a reason I use that game as an example).

I waited for months dithering whether to get this game as it did not appeal to me. Boy was I wrong, it is brilliant. I am about to do another play through. Take your time, you are not in a race to escape the planet, enjoy every part of it.

You could also take advantage of steam's refund policy. And just try it out.

Why feel like something bad would happen if he tried that? Something bad like along the lines of getting eaten by ahem a creature with sharp teeth.

Priceless :)

Is the game worth it? Yes when they finally fix it and finish it!
They will probably never fix it. They released it in like january or something and they have only released one patch since then.(I think)

The experimental branch is still being updated almost every day, moving the game to the new unity engine has made experimental unplayable at times but lately it has been getting much better. So there will be more patchs to the stable branch eventually.

I hate survival games normally, but I love Subnautica . It roped me in right away. It doesn't take much to get going resource wise, and because of the futuristic setting/fabrication tools, crafting things feels natural. You'll quickly feel a sense of ownership and accomplishment as you gather resources to build things and survive. The rich lore, intriguing story, and optional methods of unraveling said story, is perfect.

I found things became a chore in mid to late game, so only then did I start using mods/console commands, but that is optional too of course. I can't think of another game that caters to so many playstyles.

Oh yeah, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrifying and beautiful all at the same time, what an achievement!
