cant equip tablet? please help (minor spoilers)

I got to the part in the where you get to the underground alien base at 1400, in a lava zone (I dont know the technicalities). I had made 2 purple tablets to access the base, when I reached it I couldn't put the tablets into my quick bind slots, I try to drag it on to the slots but it reacts like the tablets arent an item that can be put into the slots. Please help me

You never need to equip them. Just have them in your inventory, and you'll use them if they can be used.

If you're where I think you are, and the purple ones aren't working, then you need a blue tablet (2, actually). Basically, you're at the wrong place.

And you're absolutely certain that you have the *correct* tablet in your *personal inventory* when doing this?

3 colors of tablet. Blue, purple, orange. There is one locale that requires a single orange tablet, 2 or 3 terminals near the end that require a purple blue tablet, and all the other locks require a blue purple tablet. Ultimately requires about 7-8 blue purple tablets.

You can find enough of each color tablet playing through the story line and exploring earlier bases and the areas around them. If you miss some, every color of tablet CAN be crafted with the right selection of materials. You will get the recipe if you scan a particular color of tablet. Remember the maxim, heard from all advisors here, "Scan Everything!" ?

You should only need to equip a tablet if you are about to drop it on the sea floor or platform in order to scan it, etc. Otherwise the terminal controls will just deal with it directly from your inventory.

you also need to make sure that you have the correct colored tablet, there is at least one special one that you need for the Primary Containment Facility.
