Cuddlefish in creative

Is there a way to get the cuddlefish to follow you in creative? I beat the game on vanilla survival, and after taking about a week to emotionally recover from saying goodbye to my little buddy, I started a creative game so I could basically fart around the map, building to my heart's content, but with a cuddlefish following me.

Instead, to my dismay, the only option besides normal playing is to say goodbye again! He just stays right in the area I dropped him. Why not just take my heart and sucker-punch it a few more times?! He'll play and say goodbye but no follow. Is there a way to make my cuddlefish follow me so we can go on fun, immortal adventures together?

The goodby option should normally only come up after you build the rockets cockpit.
Before then it's the normal follow command.

Did you by any chance build one or more rockets?

No, not in the creative mode. I had the option, but all I had built was some multipurpose rooms and observatories. I basically got a fancy base up, then high-tailed it to the cave below the blood kelp where the orange-tablet room held the egg.

Huh. Maybe just an odd catch of being in creative? Or a bug.
Or both, because why limit yourself.

By the way, you do know there's more than one cuddlefish egg on the map right? There's five.
One, as you know, is under a man made roof.
One is under an alien claw looking thing.
One's under a giant tree.
One's under another giant tree.
And the last ones found under a reaper.

I only ever found two in my first game. Seems like I'll have to do some searching. I tried to avoid spoilers so everything I found was from either being led by the story or bumping into it...or being eaten by it. I suppose it would be a glitch or part of creative. Literally just started the new file tonight. Barely had time for the aurora to blow, I haven't even made the rocket platform or anything.

So just an update, I restarted my computer, and the cuddlefish had follow selected, and I can toggle between telling him to stay and follow. So if you do encounter this try restarting everything
