This or you ran into lava larvae before using Silent Running.
Which is why it would logically drain power to reduce noise.
I guess quite a few players will at first think that the silent running mode works like in a real sub:
Running the engine at low rpm and shutting down anything non-essential to reduce noise. So they justifiably assume that it would reduce power drain.
I understand they only had so many moving parts to nudge players into not keeping Silent Running on all the time.
But maybe a better way would have been to decrease the energy cost, or leave it alone, but to shut off oxygen production while it's on.
That would make sure players wouldn't keep it on all the time and ensure they never forgot to turn it off.
Pretty fleshed out mod with tons of possiblities to make the Cyclops a true beast.
It silences the voices in your head telling you to not use the worthless aggro magnet.
