Copper
I'm preparing for a long mining expedition into the inactive lava zone to aquire Kyanite for my eventual trip into the lava lakes. To do so I need to prepare a large amount of backup powercells for my prawn suit and cyclops.

Now I've heard that apparently copper nodes can be found in and around the mushroom forests but the thread where I heard that is a fair bit old. Is this true? Can coppers (mining) nodes be found in the mushroom forests?

If you mean the large deposits which you can mine with PRAWN, yes they can be found in the mushroom forest.

Sure thing. It's probably the most common resource right after titanium. If you mean prawn mineable, no idea.

That's dope. Just to be sure can they be found in both of the mushroom forests?

From my experience i was always going to the mushroom forest near the dunes. But i went there for the large deposits which you can drill with prawn.

Or you could just build a couple spare power cells and bring sufficient materials with you to build a small temp base down there equipped with a power cell charger or two.
The base could be recharging the batteries while you run around mining

If you have access to the Cyclops Thermal Reactor Module, you could head down there with all of the other materials (2 polyniline and a wiring kit), dig up some kyanite, and make the module right there on the ship, install it, and the heat of the area will refill your batteries.

You don't really need any backup power cells. Going from the life pod to the inactive lava zone uses like 5% energy. Just don't park down there or you will come back to 0% power due to the leeches.
