How big can you build a base?
Hi, I am just wondering cuz mine seems to be getting rather big and I don't want to screw up my game. Sooo how big can you safely go?

Thanks...

Well integrity is not an issue, its about 100 at the moment lol, but that is good to know. Thankyou...

ok so if you want a good base layout I'd advise what I call a Slave Tower its 4 MP rooms tall with nothing in it and only 1 way in every wall in this tower has a wall reenforcement & all areas were possible have bulkheads (makes first trip threw base slow each loadup but worth it in the long run) using this I'm able to make a base with all my nesecities and one alien containment unit for each biome type 3 stories tall and most of the other units in the base have glass walls I even have 4 moon pools and my integraty is still around 20.

so basicly aslong as you place supports and stay in decent deapths (basicly day/night cycling areas) your able to build a base that spans the whole map if you want

Yeah but then some parts tend to "dissappear" lol, or rather are not drawn. Like the suppost legs fror MP rooms or Moonpools.

There's no build limit. Your limit is only by integrity numbers and that only needs to be non-zero non-negative numbers.

Just be aware, every base you make is always loaded regardless of size or distance from it. So the bigger the base or the more bases you make the more performance you lose. But feel free to destroy your computer and make a base that extends from both islands and all the way to the Sea Emperor's room.

this has been streamlined somewhat as well since alpha

Well I don't plan on building anything THAT big. I think I will stay with what I have anyway. If I add more I lose all my support "legs" and it kinda looks weird and unstable lol.

I started to build but it seems quite difficult. I cant merged my instalations, linking multirooms is almost impossible. Anyone has idea what i do wrong?

Once built a base that went from about 20-30 meters above water, all the way down to about 200-250 meters.

Though I admit a lot of that height came from some long pillars connecting all the main areas. Without the pillars it might be closer to 1/3-1/2 that.

Now , when you say can't merge installations that makes me think you're building seperate detached buildings and then trying to join them together with corridors etc . If thats so then it will almost never work unless you get really lucky.
The best way is to start with 1 room or corridor and then expand from it by attaching new rooms/corridors directly to the existing buildings.

Otherwise the only time you should have difficulty adding a new structure is when there is a collision issue. Usually that means an overlap with terrain but might be a random fish swimming by and also could be you if you stand too close to what youre attempting to build

My game lags, so sometimes my Moonpool's legs squat in the water instead of extend to the ground.

Wow, well those pics put my base to shame, and I "was" kinda proud of it lol. Altho I may have gone a bit overboard with the plants...
