Does this game save my file if I uninstall it?
I completed the game (it was amazing btw) and I want to uninstall it so it doesn't take up too much space. I probably won't play it that much anymore but I don't want to loose my progress. Will it save after I uninstaill it?

If you uninstall the game, it will delete your save files too because they're in the install directory. It's very poor design that quite a few unity developers do because it's easy...

I could be wrong, but I don't believe it does. It can't use cloud saving after all.

Best to make a backup of your save just in case you want to come back to it.

How do I backup my save?
Go to the file Lil mentioned. Find the save with that was last used when you last saved your game. Copy-paste it to somewhere that isn't the games files like a new folder on the hard drive or just loose on the disc itself.

I don't have to buy a usb or disc right? I just save it in a file on my computer?

Correct. Saving it to a stick or disc is optional.

By "disc" I meant your "hard drives disc". Sorry for the confusion.

when I get to the "saved games" part and click on "slot 0000", do I press "select" or "new folder..."?

Find the save you want and right click on it. Click "copy".
Then go to the place/file you want to store it and right click on any empty space in that place/file. Click "paste".
Job done.

I think that answer by Lil Puppy is untrue, if you uninstall the game via steam then all the files BUT your save files are deleted.
Uninstalling and reinstalling keeps save files

The lack of steam cloud support looks even more ridiculous.

Okay so, should I just keep it on my computer then?

okay well I think uninstalling doesn't affect your saves, or at least that's what I found
I might be wrong though so try moving your saves to another folder on your computer or put it on a USB
