Subnautica Wiki.... Lists all information on the Reaper Leviathan, including locations where they can be found and how many are in the game.
http://subnautica.wikia.com/wiki/Reaper_Leviathan
When I go to the Aurora (in the Seamoth) I drive directly east from my base near my Life Pod right up to the side of the crashsite and traverse along the side toward the bow, stopping a short distance from the entrance.....Then look for a place to hide the SM from view and swim or Seaglide (lights off) the remaining way, keeping a listen for the roar in the distance.
Always keep your ears open for the first signs of these guys being in the area...Sammy the Reaper has already got me on a few occations.
And they all respawn
There are 8 reapers in the crash zone. If killed, they do not respawn. There's a popular game map that shows 7, but while that map is overall very good, it has the leviathan positions all wrong. There's a better leviathan map out there which names all of them.
But just to be clear, here is the breakout:
- 3 Reapers on the northern side of the Aurora (one technically spawns in the Bulb Zone)
- 1 Reaper on the eastern side
- 3 Reapers on the southern side
- 4 more Reapers south of the Aurora, including 2 in the crash zone mesas sub-biome
To be complete:
- 8 Reapers in the Dunes
- 6 Reapers in the Moiuntains
= 25 Reapers total in the game (number confirmed by the devs)
This is now correct and they do respawn.
Oh, well... huh. I thought there was only one more down there. I guess none of the maps I've found are correct.
