Can't scan for fragments in the scanner room
So currently something is buggy. Yesterday I could scan for fragments in the scanner room. Today I cannot also the old ones are not shown in my hud. So something is off here, is there any fix?

Is this really true? Is there some setting to switch to this because it’s showing me fragments for blueprints I most definitely already have (seamoth, grab trap, scanner room, etc.)
No, it wasn't true back in 2021. If you set it to scan for fragments (and the ground around you is loaded in) then it will just show you were all of them are, not just the ones you have yet to find.

I assume it's still true now judging by your comment.

swim around, look here and there, swim back to the scanner room and the list should be a bit longer
the cams should also work i think but i don't use the cams at all but.. try it

The scanner room only shows areas your character has "loaded" into the game by going into them. That is why the above post suggests swimming around.

The game does not load any area you have not "looked" at. It also unloads everything when you exit, meaning nothing but the nearest "grid/area" is loaded when you next start.

This^. When you load up a save the game doesn't load up the whole map with it (if it did you would be staring at a loading screen for a very stupidly long time).
You either need to go for a swim to make the world load back in and with it all the items out there for it to be able to look for or the quicker option below.
Send the drones out into the world and leave them out there (in spots that a stalker can run off with them). When you load up a game just activate the drones and wait for the image to appear.
It does the same thing as going for a swim, but without the need to leave your base.

Wait, since when does the scanner room show fragments?
I was just searching for a mod that would enable scanning for fragments, because it just doesn't. And never has in the 3 years I play it.

Or is this a bug that got in the savegame?
Because I am in this world since a lot of bugs hit the game. And I am actually trying to discover why I do not have most of the blueprints, but I do have loads and loads of propulsion gun and scanner room fragments.

Ah, the fandom wiki says it will only show fragments if fragments are found of blueprints that you have not yet unlocked, than that might be the bugged map, because I really do not have all fragments for all blueprints. But still can't remember that 3 years ago it blipped on fragments.
Then it's time to create the nuclear reactor blueprint and the grapler blueprint.

Not sure what to tell you, but it has always done this. That's some interesting luck you have there.

Honestly, it'd be kind of cool if the scanner room counted "fragments of things you've already scanned" as titanium. Since that's what it turns into.

It was true when that comment was posted, but it's no longer true now in the current version.

This is also why it's not ideal to bump topics from several years ago. This game has had several patches since then that have changed gameplay elements.

One way to make the scanner room see the stuff you're looking for is to send one of the drones out and drive it around the general area. While you're doing that, when the scanner picks up any new item you will get a notification on the screen. As soon as it adds "fragment" or "databox," you can back out of the drone camera and then set the scanner to scan for that thing.
