Mushroom Forest, which way from lifepod?

I'm trying to find either one of the Mushroom Forest biomes so I can get blueprints for the cyclops, but I can't find them. My online research shows that there's one to the north of the lifepod and one to the west. But I don't know what to look for, and checking where I am by pressing F1 just keeps telling me that I'm in a different Biome. So which way do I need to go, and what are the indications that I'm there? I've tried once before by heading to the west, but without knowing what I'm looking for, I went so far that I ended up in the void.

The Cyclops fragments are hard to find in Mushroom. Sometimes I am swimming around there for 30 minutes looking. The Cyclops fragments are on the seafloor. They mostly look like big metal shelf. The fragments don't blend in but there is so many Mushroom Trees that block visibility.

From your lifepod, have the aurora on your right and go north keeping the aurora on your right. You'll pass through a grassy plateau and then come to it. The trees will be weird looking and you can scan them so you know they're the mushroom trees and that's the right biome.
