Who else is sad for the sea emperor? (don't come here if you haven't finish the game)
Man, what an exhaustive and nerve wracking journey. Kind of glad that its over, but also kind of sad too. That ending spoken by the sea emperor, "Now you go among the stars, and I fall among the sand," left me a wee bit depressed.

I can't help but feel for her. IF it was me really there on planet 4546B I would have stayed by her side in her last few moments just to keep her company. Having lived for SO long, alone and in captivity, I would not have wanted her final moments to be more loneliness.

She died happy and willingly to save her children and see them free. She was too big to ever get out of the containment facility, it was a happy ending.

You helped her save her children and free them, you saved the planet by freeing them.

I think that tugged on all our heart strings.

Sad but not for long since it was the natural life cycle of their species. There are several species on earth who die after laying their eggs. Most commonly these are squids and octopi which most likely explains the design of the Sea Empress and the inspiration for the storyline.

Not really. It really didn't have the presence to generate an emotional attachment, and from what it said, it deliberately prevented the precursors from finding a cure.

Rejoice as you managed to save yourself and at the same time set the world free from a foreign bacterial contamination with the help of a willing participant.

The emperor deserved to be finally put to rest after been subjected to so much pain and anguish for such a long time within confinement. The gratitude that was given was thanks enough for me and it was my pleasure to have helped her out in her time of need along with her younglings. That experience to me was worth a hell of a lot more than a trillion in game credits. :steamhappy:

What makes you think she deliberately prevented them from finding a cure? All she said was that they couldn't hear her; the assumption being she very much tried to tell them but the Precursors were unable to pick up her telepathy.

My heart broke, it was really sad for me.

I would love to hear how you got the impression she intentionally stopped them from finding it. She never said that and there was nothing we found that said that.

I know this is a very old post, but I just got to this part of the game and I felt quite the same. My dad died unexpectedly pretty recently and I wish to god I had been there for him. So seeing this lonely creature pass away was so heartbreaking and now I'm a sobbing mess.

Just left her and I'm sobbing too.

I also wanted to not leave her alone in her last minutes after 3 thousand years solo curing the planet from INSIDE her windowless cell

I don't think she witheld (why is below**) but even if she had, I'd get it;

The other research station with the other unique leviathan skull, and the infant skeleton (whuch was not reaper, ghost or sea dragon)
Remember how it was newborn, and had died from lack of care. That station had eggs in all states of pulled apart, and ALSO.... the manufacturing plant for the warpers.
The warpers which are the same octopoid look... with domed heads... but guts full of wires...
And in the final lab, a baby, cut from its egg, and dead. About that size.

They took the other leviathans babies, OUT of their eggs and turned them into undead, cyborg mindless sentries, and their mother killed herself trying to get into them to save them.

Now imagine they have YOUR eggs, and YOU know the key to hatching them and healing the planet, but THEY don't realise they need to let the infants LIVE, and can't hear you.
Do you let them hatch your eggs, knowing what was done with the last of the others?

Definitely not.

Salute, you gorgeous seabeast you!

**Why not witheld on purpose; "what they sought to take, to you I freely give." Which could be where the 'intentionally witheld' concept comes from, but she did also say she tried and they did not hear her- AND one of the initial contacts I recall her expressing surprise that you COULD hear her.

Didn't bother me in the least. Scooters death in BL2 that bothered me.
