That's not impossible, but it would be anomalous. Reapers, at least, use audible echolocation, most creatures make vocalizations in the audible range which suggests that they (and their predators) can also hear those ranges, and experiments with the cyclops horn are not terribly encouraging. Basically I'm saying that there's a lot of details that suggest a big metal box shooting off high pitched pings is going to get attacked.
Eitherway, using it will not increase your chances of getting attacked. But leaving it on will quickly drain your power. Try and use it only when you need to and not at all times.
The sonar is SOund Navigation And Ranging. It is an aide for avoiding hostile creatures in the darkness of caves and obviously does not attract their attention, However, the warpers maybe capable but are unable to affect you in the cyclops. Seamoth is a different matter and as you know it's good to have a repulsion cannon handy when doing so.
I wonder if the warpers make use of sonar technology. By now local wildlife will have them (mis)identified as a predator. If so, going active could signal the wildlife that your sub, rather than a food source, is a danger to them.
Try this one: It's not real life. It's a video game. It was coded that way for fun and balance.
A lot of the time in vodeo games: realism =/= fun
If the sonar attracted large predators, no one would want to use it.
So they made it so it didn't because it wouldn't be fun if it did.
Applying real world physics and current day technology to fiction is a futile exercise.
If you are having trouble hand-waving this problem (and others you've noted) given the current set of answers, I anticipate that there is no answer that will satisfy you.
Given your past threads on this forum, I think it's safe to say that there's nothing to be gained from trying to play your game by your rules.
So I won't play your game. I'll play mine.
If this upsets you and you wish to return to your own thing, please let us know what exactly is the correct answer to your quesiton, because clearly you aren't really interested in what anyone else has to say. You just like striking down ideas because they don't make sense to you. Either that or you just get a kick out of telling people they're wrong about something.
Your whole time on this forum has been spent nitpicking at the game in attempts to say that the developers made a mistake (were wrong) because something didn't confirm to your expectations of reality.
I think there is no perfect fiction for you. You'll pick apart anything cause it gives you a rush of addictive self-satisfaction.
Is that enough imagination for you now? Please, continue poking. I can keep this up until the thread gets locked.
Not about to say 'only' because I'm not that kind of hypocrite but you might be.
