Man's Best Friend achievement won't work

Is anyone else having trouble with the achievement, "Man's best friend"? I hatched three Cuddlefish eggs and I still don't have it.

Too late now but it'sworth pointing out that you cannot return a released cuddlefish to your alien containment so if you want to keep them there and still get the achiev just make sure you save, get the achiev and reload.

Yeah, I found that out the hard way and didn't reload. Luckily I still have more cuddlefish in my habitat.

You can pick them back up... you just have to spam interact. That might only work on Xbox though.
