Alien Arches?
I've found two alien archways which are obviously portals, one in the Quarantine Enforcement Platform, and another in a cave beneath a mushroom forest. Am I supposed to be able to activate these right now? Haven't been to the lost river or beyond yet, but I remember someone on this forum saying you could activate the one in the QEP right away. I'm loking around near that portal but can't see any sort of switch?

Do not worry about them 90% can only be activated in the end game and they are mostly useless. And you can only activate those that have a pedestal in front of them using an Ion Cube.

The portal in the qep and the one in the mushroom forest's master teleporter are in the lava zone.

The one you activate is in a cave near the QEP. The one inside you activate at another facility. You need the ion cubes to activate them. If you can activate the gate, there will be a small platform that'll open up in front of it.

Oh, alright, I'll leave them be for now. Still, they make for a great photo op. I Have a bunch of Ion cubes I found around the QEP but nothing to do with them yet. Except for feeling creeped out by carrying the equivalent energy of 5 kilotons of TNT in my back pocket...

Just activated my first one now, the one at the QEP and it lead me to the other island....Kinda pointless since I already explored this island BEFORE finding the QEP hehe...Also seems a bit of a waste of time since the teleport seems to take so long and you can't take cyclops or seamoth with you =\

Huh, I didn't actually know that the mountain island HAD caves. I only ever explored the alien structure there. Go figure...

Most of those are activated from the main facility, the exists in the different biomes do not have a way to activate them.
