How to get to Inactive Lava Zone with cyclops?
Hello,

I'm trying to get to Inactive Lava Zone with my cyclops. I watched a vid and there used to be an entrance below the aurora, but that seems to have been removed. The only other entrance I know of is only big enough for the prawn.

Help please =S

IIRC - Go to blood kelp Zone, Then the lost River or Bulb Zone (under floating Island) and go further down into the lost river via that route those are the routes I took.

Oh I see. I'll try that. There was a ghost leviathan barring off part of the lost river last time I was there, but with cyclops I guess I can just activate shields and blow past it. brb making backup power cells XD

Yea but he's pretty easy to get past, I was able to get the cyclops all the way to the final facility..there are some tight areas but it is possible and makes traversing "hell" much better. Also the entrance to the ILZ is past the ghost tree keep going to the end then you will see the drop off, that area is big enough to get the cyclops down into. I recommend having the shield upgrade since lava larvae attach to your sub draining power, using the shield just for a sec bumps them off.

The path that fits the cyclops has 2 ghost leviathans, but thats only for the way to the membrane tree - (ideal spot for a base btw)

Another way is the hole that Kerbol Explorer mentioned. There's a large hole past the disease research facility that takes you directly into the lava zone. A ghost leviathan swims right around and over the hole so you might wanna bring some creature decoys and the shield upgrade.

I just killed the bone zone one and that one. Then I had no problems from juvenile ghost leviathans.

Then I felt bad that I had kinda ruined most of a generation of that creature, so I left the adults and the last one alive.

you could also try to thread the needle with the holes that take to the grand reef caves where the last degassi base is and take teh route where the giant leviathon skull and ghost leviathan is, then procede to the grand cove tree that way you only encounter 1 ghost

That's the way I went.

Well... there is a HUGE hole on ground not far away from Scape Pod 12. Heading north-northwest more or less, not sure the distance but... just around 200-300 meters in that way. Good luck!

yeah tho i have a question
do crabsquids even damage the hull, i have been "attacked" by them many times, but they dont seems to do anything
DeFragged Feb 11, 2018 @ 10:12am
The Cyclops has regenerating HP for the first like, 10%. It's like a shield - anything soaked up by this 10% causes no lasting harm to the Cyclops. A single crabsquid won't breach your shield. Multiple crabsquids might start causing permanent damage though.

For this reason, I always run into Crabsquids at full speed.

I needed to get the second cuddlefish egg, so i ended up exiting this way. It was a really tight fit and the crabsquids were annoying but i made it and it was much safer than the other way. I ended up avoiding the ghost leviathan in the fossil area completely because it was swimming somewhere else.

i usually have bad luck with its spawns and its always right there, and then i always end up goinf the wrong way so i need to repair and go back and get attacked agian

yeah, the cyclops can be a pain but the thermal upgrade makes it a lot easier. You can use the shield, get past the ghost leviathan, then sit on a thermal vent or in the lavazone for a minute or two and you're good to go. Far better than going to the nearest base of yours to recharge your power cells (which take 6:40 to recharge from 0% to 100%)
