Didn't really have any trouble with it when I returned with the Prawn.
I try to avoid dealing with any aggressive Leviathans while in the Cyclops. I basically just use it to cart my Prawn Suit around.
I would argue the best way to play games like this is two fold.
1. Going into the game knowing nothing.
2. Play like you only have one life even if its not on hardcore.
Once you feel you cant relay on the "just check and die" or reload stuff. The game becomes way more tension driven and you plan more like real life when doing stuff. Makes the game more enjoyable.
Then took the other exit on the way out. And drove past the other one.
I agree that it's best to play in either of the two ways for full immersion. I've had the game since January of 2016 and played Creative Mode only up until recently. I know the general layout of the map and what the creatures do, but now I have my first survival save and I play like I'm on hardcore. I have about 1 day and 7 hours in my save, and I haven't died yet. I'm still learning new tricks through trial and error though, as I never had much use for silent running in Creative Mode but relied on it like a red-light-green-light game with the reapers in the Dunes.
