Do Thermal Powerplants not work in the Active Lava Zone?
I was trying to build a base down there (ironically right next to the alien thermal power plant lol), but as of now the thermal powerplants aren't producing any power. Does anyone know how I could work around this?

Also, I'm confused as to how exactly the thermal plants work. Do they need to be placed in a vent, or do they just work in any area that has a high temperature?

Since I'm 1400 meters down and in a cave, I can't use solar panels, and I can't use the nuclear reactor since I can't even build the rods for it. I'm glad I decided to test this in creative before doing it in my main survival save.

So you're glad testing this in creative before you do it in survival?
You are in Creative?
The problem is that creative has this bug with base = no lights (no matter how many energy types you use) lights don't turn on!

Open up console
Type survival so that you're in survival mode
Then go back to creative
(type creative in console)
Base = light is on

Any are with high temperature.

Do you have a power transmitter close to them to transmit the power?

Yep. It's maybe 5 meters away from them at the most.

Is 70 degrees celcius not hot enough?

So you have a beams of power coming from the thermal plants to the Transmitter correct?
Is there power transmitting from the transmitter to the base?
How far away is the transmitter from the base?
There supposed to transmit power for a 100M or so I usually go every 80-90M per transmitter

All they need is 15C or higher temp to work

There's a blue line connected from the transmitter to both the base and the thermal plants, so that's connected as far as I know, but there isn't any power being created, so nothing is being transmitted.

It's a bug faced by many other players..

Strange you seem to have everything set up correctly, Have you tried saving and restarting?

I have already done that twice. Guess I can't build down here if it's bugged.

You probably can, but I think the plant itself is bugged right now.

Have you already tried putting the generator directly on the base?

I put it right next to it on a foundation with no luck. Right now they're only 5 or 6 meters away from the first foundation.

No, I mean directly on the base, like on top of a multi-purpose room. (I think they fit, anyway; you may have to build a scanner room or moonpool to get sufficient flat area.)
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.
