How to build the cyclops?

I have found all the blueprint pieces, have all the materials and when I climb onto the vehicle fabricator, the AI tells me "Cannot build here; must be constructed in deeper waters."

I already took the vehicle fabricator over a spot with deeper waters where it was before. Is there a certain minimal depth the water has to have or does that message mean something else? I can't build it underwater, since the fabricator floats above it...

U need more space underwater for cyclop. Fabricator always will be on the surface.

Indeed, move the fabricator away so more water is available underneath. The cyclops is quite large so make sure it has like 20ish meters available.

If it's still not working when you're in deeper waters it might be a bug with the mobile vehicle bay itself. Some people have been forced to make a 2nd MVB and it usually works after that.

It also builds the Cyclops quite a distance away from you - make sure the water 10-20m away from you is deep enough.

Managed it, finally. Had to go 100 meters away from my base until the water was deep enough

I somehow managed to create my Cyclops so it landed on my lifepod. I thought it was stuck for a couple minutes.
