Need help finding the lava castle.
Before you say anything, I did google it and I did YouTube it. All the videos were over a year old and Google was no better as it only had surface maps availible.

Now I found the Lost River and I found a hole dow to a bunch of lava and an upset Sea Dragon. In that place I found another hole down to what I believe to be the Lava Lakes as I found the Containment Facility there.
But I need to find the Lava Castle to get in there but the visibbility is atrocious so exploration is more of a chore than fun- I'm on the verge of giving up as the sonar is draining my batteries so fast. So now you know where I am, so where the hell should I go?

First build a little base with a moon pool and a biogenerator (if you grow plants on your cyclops, if not then raise deep shrooms) in the entrance of the ILZ. This really helps. Restore your power with the base power and move on. Now to lava castle, sorry I don't know where it is. I have been to the ILZ to find kayanite and the alien thermal plant but I ran out of storage. Building an outpor really helps

Yeah, I built a base near the hole with the Ghost Leviathan. Got everything needed there powered by thermal plants. The thermal reactor for the cyclops helps.

When you first enter the lava zone out of that long dark tunnel that connects it to the lost river (i.e. the point when everything goes orange) just head straight ahead, you should find a large mountain of black rock.

Not what you were expecting was it? The name "lava castle" was ment quite literally.

the lava castle is easy to find, but a bit hard to recognize. it's a big lump of rock with a lot of thermal vents on it (the natural kind)

it's the largest rock formation in the center of the inactive lava zone. the sea dragons tend to circle it. somewhere near the top but below the "crown" you'll see the alien pillars, that marks the cave entrance

Oh thank God! I parked right next to it. I'll go have a look. I hate this place because the visibility is more or less zero.

It's called the Lava Castle because it looks like a castle and it's in a lake of lava.

Also because it's made of lava thats hardened back into rock.
