How deep can you dive?
I mean on your own, without a machine. I've only reached 350-ish depth so far and everything's okay. I don't quite understand why Seamoth can't go beneath 200 but without Seamoth you can go much deeper, but that's not the question.
There has to be an actual depth limit to which you can dive and stay alive, right?

Max with the seamoth is 900.
Max with prawn is around 1300.
Max with Cyclops is I dunno.

You just need upgrades. Find them and apply them. You can go deeper.
if you somehow manage to get past the ghost leviathans in the dead zone and reach the bottom you can fall through the map infinitely. managed to get to 6000 btw

Max with prawn is 1500 and I also think that is max with cyclops. If you had unlimited air you can go forever down into the abyss( well unill you crash) you can do this by building bases on the wall but tere is no point.

Seamoth + Mk3 depth module: 900m
Cyclops + Mk3 depth module: 1,700m
Prawn Suit + Mk2 depth module: 1,700m

I don't know if there is a Mk3 depth module for the Prawn Suit. I don't see any way to make one.

Only using the seaglider I've managed to do 1000m (upwards, obviously) and I barely made it. I also have the highest capacity oxygen tank in the game.

main character is immune to underwater pressure which has 0 explanation why ingame. i remember some dev stating that they made it so because it isn't fun.

1700m atm. And you need only over 900m (seamoths MKIII Depth Module) in the Lost Rivers last Parts and the Lavazone. So you can reach most Parts of the Game with the Seamoth MKIII.

They could just say that your dive suit has nanotube microfibers in it or something that resists pressure. ect

Both the Cyclops and Prawn with max depth modules can go to 1700m. The last, deepest area of the game is around 1450-1500m.

can't you carry multiple full air tanks and swap them when they run out? I haven't tried it, but I think you can use up your 225, and then switch to another. Only drawback is that you have to swap the tanks again when you are in an "air zone" to refill all the tanks 1 by 1.

Technically so long as you find a way to get air you could get to 8000m at which point the game warps you back to surface. The diver does not get any special damage from depth, it's just vehicles that do. I guess they did it that way to gate the progression a bit. The map is vertical as much as it is horizontal, they limit how far below you can go so you clear content at lower depth first.

Because if they made it logical it wouldn't be fun.

Trust me, I walk around trying to be logical all day and it's no fun at all.

Also people have made it to 1000m in freedives so it's not like we're under immense pressure that people haven't experienced before.

And I'm guessing caves like the lost river wouldn't put as much pressure on you as an open ocean... but I could be wrong on that. Just think the cave system would handle a lot of the pressure from above it and it wouldn't get transferred to you... then again all the water's connected so maybe pressure would still be the same, no idea.

Pressure is the same for cave divers vs. open water. This game has to simplify the science a lot to make it enjoyable. Diving deep for real is super complicated.

In a deep dive we'd die from other complications before reaching the crush depth of our bodies, since none of those complications exist in subnautica we're cool.

But we have to scrounge for resources to apply this to vehicles :P

Its all good, no need for saturation diving as we have space magic! xD
