Alien Containment population question.
I have a question about the population limit for an Alien Containment unit - the wiki says the population limit is 10 per segment, but if I hatch some really bigassed fish in there, do each of them count as one or more for the purposes of population limit?

I'm asking because I have a 3-storey tank with one of each of large predator and I'm trying to breed Oculus fish in there, but so far nothing's appeared.

Thanks!

They have the same inventory limit as a container. Does the fish in your inventory take up 1x1(single slot) or 2x2(4 slots)?
Edit: I think all the predator fish take up 4 slots. I transfered a Crab Squid and a Bone Shark from one double stack containment to another stack the same size to keep my 2 Cuddlefish company. :)

That was what I suspected. Each predator takes up 3x3 (9 slots!), and my 30-population limit tank is probably overfull by now. Fortunately eggs still hatch, and excess fish don't die. They just don't reproduce.

I've also noticed the lack of reproduction in my two-level tank. I put two crabsquids in, and initially they bred up to about six or seven. After that, no other eggs would spawn. Once I cleared out all of the crabsquids except two and threw in some smaller fish, they started dropping eggs again. Honestly, I'm kinda glad they just stop making eggs instead of dying. It was kind of alarming to have a two-level tank of peepers and come back to find a large school of them floating belly-up at the top of the tank.
