I'm a bit stuck
I am at the crafting point where I need Kyanite and other deep materials before I can do anything else. It appears that Kyanite can be found in the Lava rivers at around 1200m depth, but I can't find an easy way to get there. I have the Seamoth that can go to 900m (not enough), the Cyclops can go to 1200m, but I can't find a way to get it down there because the descend is full of narrow openings and I can't see ♥♥♥♥. I also have the PRAWN which can go ♥♥♥♥ ITSELF, because I'd rather chop off my own fingers than have to traverse 1k+ meters of cavernous distance with the bungie rope from Worms.

TLDR; I'm going through the Blood Forest and going down from there to reach the lava zone, is there an easier/faster way to get there for the Cyclops with lots of room to descend?

You need the prawn and there's no way around it. The cyclops can be upgrades to dive to 1200 meters but you still need the prawn to drill the minerals.

Is there a way to get the cyclops down to the lava river though? Or do I need to park it at the blood forest and then traverse the massive underground area with the sea dragon skeletons etc with the prawn? I just can't find a way to get the cyclops down there, the passes are too narrow.

I personally didn't because I hate driving the cyclops but there are people who swear it's the best way to navigate the lava zone so it fits somehow...now sure if it'll fit the cove tree entrance but it probably fits the back entrance by the research facility.

You can get down to the ghost tree with the sub, entrance to the lost river should be nearby (including a ghost leviathan).

There is indeed, you can get you Cyclops all the way down to the deepest gameplay area, just make sure to park him somewhere out of the sight of possible leviathans. There are several entrances and shortcuts to the Lost River, some of them much wider than the narrow blood kelp forest caves. You could probably find them with the moth using the sonar once you're down there, mark them with a beacon, and then navigate there with your Cyclops. That said though, you will still need the prawn suit with the drill arm to get kyanite, so make sure you dive prepared, otherwise it will be a massive waste of time.

Also, once you're in the active lava zone grab those crystalized sulfurs and get yourself a jet upgrade for the prawn...makes it 1000 times easier to navigate (you will still trip on mushrooms...no pun intended)

They actually changed that recently, you can collect Kyanite by hand now <3

Oh really? I have yet to see any individual nodes. Are they also in the ILZ?

Yush, it was really recently, I think right before launch Kyanite hand crystals are now inside the Lava Castle, Sulphur and Nickle are hand collectible in TLR too .

The lifepod/radio lead you all the way to the Lost River through the easiest method possible imo. Lifepod 2 beacon is right at the entrance.. Just below the underwater islands to the West.
