Unable to see Stalker teeth
Now, ive googled this left and right and im aware of how to get the teeth themselves, however JUST to be sure i wasnt completely blind i grabbed the scanner room and scanned for the teeth.

After the scan, sent a camera to the tooth location, saw the tooth in the camera, swam over to it (roughly 300m distance) and bam, no tooth..... Scanned again, camera again, found an area with 3+ teeth all near each other, swam to it.... no teeth....

Any idea how to fix this?

Back in EA, I never had a problem seeing or fetching them. But release? It seems they blend *too* well, and I had similar problems to yourself.

All I can suggest is :

1) circle around scrap metal. Stalkers will drop teeth when they pick up scrap metal. And they're hoarders - I found 3 or 4 stalkers all picking up scrap metal and then dropping them *in the same place* in the kelp forest. A quick scout around the piled up scrap netted me some teeth.

2) Make the scanner room HUD item. This will require some magnetite, which you can get from the Shroom cave. Once you have that, wear it and all the stalker teeth light up like little christmas tree lights! And they *do* exist... but even with the HUD on, and swimming over to the area I had trouble seeing them and just clicked on 'where the highlight was' and.. there it was.

Perhaps the tooth was stuck in the terrain. It's happened to me before. You might have to put metal salvage and/or the camera near a bunch of stalkers and just kinda wait for them to swarm over the metal; that's what makes them drop their teeth.

Alternatively, they could be inside a small cave, but I can confirm items can get stuck in the terrain.

Ive also knifed the Stalkers and attempted to get them to drop teeth, no go.

I'll give the HUD a try, but as ive stated before, i even used a camera (moving it within 1m of the object and pointing at it with the lense so i know EXACTLY where it is) and despite that, i cannot actually SEE the teeth.

Maybe having the HUD similar to the camera will help, but im quite sure its not just a matter of me finding them.

Grav trap is a no go. Attempted to use it multiple times after hitting the stalkers, letting them chew on my seamoth, and watching them pick up scrap. FYI im on survival

Yup. I'll not debate this with you. I did exactly the same thing. And also had similar problems. I gave in and made the trip to find some magnetite for this exact reason...

The HUD though.. made it easy-peasy. Sometimes it highlights teeth I can't see. I *still* can't see them when I'm ontop of them. I just click where it says and a tooth appears. Kind of annoying, but yeah...

I've heard some claim that gravspheres can help, though that trick hasn't worked for me, it seems to get good mileage for a lot of people as said above.

teeth falling through the terrain isn't really the sort of difficulty increase I was expecting for launch.

hope for the best with scrap and diving under stalkers looking for teeth as they drop is how I gotta deal these days.

i go near the bottom bellow them with seamoth and wait for one to loose it. you ear a big crack. then look where it fell. stayed 5 minutes bellow 2 and got 4 of them. my seamoth is reinforce. so no damge if they come close. just stay down bellow them and wait. if they move away with metal follow them. wont take long to get many.

Headed for magnetite now, just wanted to give a big thank you to all the people trying to help resolve the issue!

Subnautica has such a lovely community....

GOT EM! Turns out that they seem to pass through the floor if its anything less than 50m, as soon as i went below 50, i found so many teeth i honestly wondered if i wanted to bring them...

EDIT: 50, not 30m

I will state for the record though that i did search areas below 50m, but i must have gotten incredibly unlucky. The only areas i searched for teeth in (with the camera, and confirming via HUD) were above 50.
