Yes, but by definition the Reaper isn't an apex predator. So there you go.
Cheers from a relaxed casual gamer
But I do see the joke in slashing an 18 wheeler truck to death with a 4 inch blade.
Well newbie see you in 10 hours..
And it's a very funny joke
Later datalogs reveal that the Sea Dragon leviathan hunts, kills and eats the Reapers. Ergo, not an apex predator.
But you also sort of need that to actually have a working video game that isn't a lazy 'It's a rougelike, that means we dont' need to balance content!' shovelware.
Otherwise your sort of thinking results in "Warpers should be able to teleport inside your base and attack you there." type of gameplay.
Well... Again, "apex predator" only means that there's nothing that preys on you. Lions are apex predators because there are no other predators that includes lions as part of their natural prey. Lions still avoid eating porcupines, because trying to eat a porcupine hurts.
It would feel less wasteful fending off the predators who have their unleashing AI break and keep coming back after me after five nonlethal repulsion gun sendoffs, if they left more than a janky corpse.
You see, the real reason for this is that even on 4546B, disco never dies.
