What happens when you die?

As in run out of O2, food, water, health. I seem to just get teleported back to the lifepod. Are there any serious ill-effects of dying?

When you die you lose any resources you gathered if they were not "saved"

Your inventory is saved whenever you enter the lifepod, player made base, or cyclops

You lose some stuff.

Anything you had gathered after the last time you where inside of ether your lifepod or base will be lost on death. Though I think it might be on the sea floor where you died, not sure on that last one though.

Good to know, thanks. I'm still early game and I keep scrambling to try and keep myself hydrated. Guess I shouldn't worry that much.

You *should* worry about keeping yourself hydrated. Think along the lines of 2:1 of water vs food - for every one food item, bring two water.
