I do all my fighting in the Prawn, the punch is significantly more damaging than the Drill though so I just roll with Prawn + Grapple
Seamoth has the perimeter defense system which is quite powerful, but mostly it's just speedy and maneuverable enough to zoom circles around most threats that aren't crabsquids. If you must tangle with squids in a moth, you can at least irritate them a bit with gas torpedoes (the standard "vortex" torpedoes are utterly worthless; don't bother).
Cyclops... Uh... Well, it's ironically the stealthiest of the three. But it's toothless, unless you manage to get lucky and ram something at full speed.
Pretty much, grapple them first and then just go along for the ride :D It's a lot of fun, though try and stay away from the Reapers front snout if you can, go for the back of the head with the grapple.
Even if he mouth grabs you in the reinforced prawn, just keep punching his stoopid face until he lets you go, you can take 3 to 4 of these 'Mouth Fights' before your Prawn will get destroyed :)
EDIT: Also, the propulsion cannon (player or Prawn) can be loaded with things from it's inventory and Crash Fish are breedable :D
The Stasis Rifle is good all around. The only creatures it doesn’t work on are Warpers (they warp out of the bubble) and Sea Treaders (they just ignore it).
The Repulsion Cannon is amazing for things that are either more of a hassle or things that are immune to the Stasis Rifle. I personally use it for things like Warpers and Lava Larvae.
For a bit of fun, try Floaters or Grav-Traps. The latter works really well in the Aurora Drive Core room.
For vehicles: Torpedoes are useless. The Seamoth has the Perimeter Defense System to shock and drive off all but the Ampeel.
The Prawn Suit needs both the drill and grappling hook, so you may as well use them.
Stealth and evasion are preferable to straight-up engagements, but all the aforementioned tools work very well.
Swimming - Seaglide: You can swim away and outmaneuver threats. For example the juvenile ghost leviathans, they will charge at you but once they pass you it takes a while for them to turn around and charge back at you.
For added fun, try sticking floaters to enemies while swimming.
Seamoth - Perimeter Defense: You have to be close to your enemies to use it and it will only drive them off temporarily, but it is very effective. Make sure to turn it on as soon as you get inside, so that you can activate it as soon as you need it.
Prawn Suit - Drill Arm: Even if you're bad at aiming you can just activate it and point it at the threat. When they get in range they will start to take damage.
Cyclopse - Silent running on the slowest speed: You can sneak past virtually any enemy so long as you are not on top of them. Many of the smaller threats can be run right into and they won't damage you. Sometimes you get a "creature attack" warning in the sub but just ignore it unless you take a real hit. The only creature I've found that can detect the cyclopse while running on the slowest speed while in silent running mode are the adult ghost leviathans that sit near the "shelf" or "edge of the map" which are really just there to keep you within the boundaries of the game. Everything else I've been able to sneak past.
