Only other way is to build another vehicle and slowly bring them both back (stupid and slow) or attach pipes to a base pump and chain it all the way to your seamoth, then pick them back up for later use when you're done.
Tedious, but if you don't build a Cyclops there're not that many options.
There is no point in the Active Lava Zone that can't be reached from the Lost River end areas in under 236 seconds with a Seaglide.

If you are worried, take some materials and build external grow plots along the way and plant brain corals and let them grow. Then after they are grown you can follow your trail of air stations.
