Is it hard to travel long distance with prawn suit?
I think I'm going to use Seamoth and Prawn suit as my main vehicles, so I want to know is it hard to use prawn suit to travel between bases?

It's tedious. Unless you have the booster upgrades (preferably at least 2, they stack), it'll be a long walk across the seabed, and, well... it's as fun as it sounds. Grappling arm and boosters make the process more enjoyable for sure, but otherwise, Seamoth is much faster.
Why not get the Cyclops, though? It's relatively cheap and acts as a mobile base that you can fill with various modules.

Well, without a grappler or jet upgrade the prawn is really slow, and tends to get stuck easily. However, once I have those upgrades, I go pretty much everywhere in my prawn.

Really though, its simply up to your prefrence. Prawn is really good for resource scavanging, because of its drill and built-in storage. Seamoth is great for getting around quickly, but is weak in comparason, and doesn't have any built-in storage without upgrade modules.

If you elect to use your prawn, I'd really have to recommend you haul it around in a cyclops. More storage, charging, and speed. Great for supply runs. Even better if you make a thermal upgrade so you can charge your sub at vents while you hunt for materials.

I use seamoth for short runs for scrap metal and scouting and prawn suit (i got 2 built just in case) with grapple and drill for deep dives and lost river / lava zone exploration. The grapple and jet boost method of moving about is the fastest, i find, also the seamoth only goes to 900 depth while the prawn with first depth module upgrade goes to 1300 (1700 with upgraded depth module)

Even without the jump jet, PRAWN movement is hilariously fast.

Use the grappling hook, aim at the ground ahead of you and grapple

You'll be YANKED forward, release and jump, use the jets to stay up longer

You can fly some pretty amazing distances once you get the jump jet

This^. Just remember to release the grapple after its started pulling you forward but before it starts pulling you back down/into what you attached it to.

You can also use the grapple to swing like spiderman from the ceiling of caves.

Otherwise I find it's just easiest to trasport it everywhere in a cyclops. This way I can also mine more stuff with it as I have more space to store it all.

Has anyone clocked prawn slingshot speeds? Seamoth and seaglide seem to get about 10 meters per second.

It's harder than putting it in the Cyclops and deploying it when needed.

Really wish we could bring both the prawn and the seamoth in the cyclops ...
