Found a cave with a teleport arch but no way to activate

I found a cave in about 250m of water with a forcefield on the door to keep it dry inside. It's on the edge of the deep dropoff off the port bow of the aurora. (not really sure about the compass direction)
I can go inside and there's a teleport arch in there, but I don't see any control panel to activate it. (still got a couple of purple tablets at my base)
If this is the destination of another arch, there's nothing here or in the surrounding waters of interest so I was hoping it would take me someplace more interesting.
Any use for this place or am I missing something?

Place to activate is last alien base.

It actived by the teleporter at the other end. You found the slave end, not the master end.

You trigger that one way later in the game (almost end game)

No spoilers: You cannot activate it that way, there is another area which you can activate the portal than both activate together linking up.

Alright, I can't imagine why I'd want to come here from somewhere else except that I have a base nearby. For now I'll just ignore it.

That's a destination teleporter. They can only be activated from the origin, which for the one you're talking about is in the Primary Containment Facility at about 1400-1500m.

There are 3 other gates like this. And all have the same spot they are activated. Its end game, and a nice convo to open em.
