Chinese Potato Plant question

Have two of these plants in my base, they have fully grown and provided some potatoes.

Took the pototes but left at least one (the plant is still in the growing pot)

After a while it seems that no more potatoes have grown? The Lantern tree next to it seems to keep producing fruit.

Do the Chinese Potato Plants continue to provide potatoes?

As far as I know no, you need to replant them with the last potatoe.

No, I can confirm Chinese Potatoes will regrow more potatoes, but it takes time. I generally leave one potato (you can gather 4, the 5th will remove the plant) alone and it will regrow eventually.

They are the best source of water with some food, the lantern is the best source of food plantwise, and doesn't need to be replanted . .but doesn't give you much water . So I start with the marblemelons then finish of with the lantern fruit . Sometimes I throw in some bulb tree too lol. Potatos haven't seemed worth the trouble, though I have one on my sub. Hardly ever touch it.

I plant two marblemelons then cut them to 8 seeds and plant them. Then if I pick 3 melons and cut the last one to replant will give me enough food and water to get full basically. If not repeat the process on the 2nd planter.
